Feature in Focus: Projects

Projects is a brand new feature that lets you tag a variety of transactions, irrespective of their category, and link them to a particular project. This means you have a central location to view all of these transactions in one place!

Getting Started

It’s simple! Head to Insights in your Moneyhub app > Projects > Add a Project. Once all set up, you just get tagging!

Tagging Transactions

When you select either a transaction in your Transaction Inbox or individual transactions within your accounts, you will see your project(s) listed below, select which project you wish to tag the transaction for, and voila!

The possibilities really are endless, here are five ways our brand new feature can help you on your journey to financial wellness.

  1. Bills, Bills, Bills: Categorising transactions is a great way to keep track of spending, however bills fall into a range of categories such as subscriptions, utilities and rent payments for example. Projects takes this one step further by giving you an overall view at a transactional level. You can link split transactions, super useful if you are a student responsible for paying everyone's rent for example.

  2. Saving: If you link all of your savings accounts, you can use projects as a central point to see how much you have saved in total. There is no need to tag transactions, you can just watch your money grow.

  3. Managing Debt: Are you paying off a number of different debts and you want to keep track of how much you are paying out vs. your other outgoings and income? This is the perfect way to do that, it could help you to identify what wiggle room you have outside of what you are currently paying too.

  4. Saving for Seasonal Holidays: When we think of the expense associated with seasonal holidays we immediately think of gifts for our friends and family. Reality is, seasonal holidays will include other expenses such as groceries and travel. Projects are useful if you want to know on average how much you spend or you want to keep within a set budget.

  5. Property Portfolio: You can also link selected accounts and assets in order to track their balances in relation to this project. Linking a mortgage or property will give you additional insight for the project relating to the mortgage balance and property valuation.
